The secrets of the perfect wheel

You may think wheels using the same components should perform the same yet some wheels work and some don't work too well at all. Don't blame the components. Within reason, all hubs and rims are capable of being built into top class wheels, what sets them apart is how well they are built. It's the things you don't see that are important. Can you see correct and evenly tensioned spokes, do you know what a correctly tensioned wheel should feel like? What about spoke thread and rim preparation, perfect spoke lengths and stress relieved spokes, plus a lot more important things that go into a good build.

There's nothing secret about all this, it's just good wheel building.

Who am I?

My name is Roger Musson. I'm the guy who will be building your wheels.

As a sponsor of professional bike teams, I've spent years at the sharp end of competitive cycling - out in the field. Rain or shine, I've watched as my wheels were pounded hard by professional racers, studied how they've performed against other people's wheels and gained an unrivalled reputation providing excellent wheelbuilding. At this level only the best is good enough. Mistakes simply aren't an option. I'm a perfectionist.

I've built so many wheels and evaluated so many wheel components that I've stopped counting. But over the years I've come to know what I like and dislike, what works and what doesn't. There's no guesswork in anything I do. I deal only with the facts. I've also written what many consider to be the finest book on wheelbuilding.

My commitment to you is that I will provide the best wheelbuilding possible.
